Rapid-result COVID-19 testing is now available at two Mesquite primary care clinics affiliated with the Dallas Regional Medical Center. One clinic is at 2704 N. Galloway Ave., Suite 103, and the other at 820 E. Cartwright Rd., Suite 100.
Both are Dallas Medical Physician Group clinics.
According to the clinics, results of a rapid test are available within 15 to 20 minutes. Appointments are not required, but the clinics request those without an appointment stay in their cars upon arrival. Call 214-660-2500 at the Galloway location or 214-320-7600 at the Cartwright location to let a clinic staffer know you’re waiting to be tested.
Most insurance providers cover the cost of the test if a person is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, a hospital spokesperson said, but a test is also available for $100 without insurance.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, common symptoms of COVID-19, which may appear within two to 14 days of being exposed to the virus, include:
- Fever or chills
- Coug
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
